Does anyone really want to go through Husman in order to get support? What is that fkr going to do? He is going to wait until Kodi updates the github then re-brand and say he fixed it. Why not just use Kodi and no waiting for re-branding involved? Kodi is not stopping third party addons as they have said in thier press release. This is allowed by Kodi because of the re-branding but its core is still Kodi and will rely on Kodi devs for future development. They have no control over development, only copy what Kodi does and add their images (branding). They will only grab the github of kodi open source and add their branding to it. It is a combination of some want to be's like Husman who have no real skill as far as programming from scratch. It's just one of those things that you find what works for your installation/skin and stick with it.Īfter all this time I *STILL* think that Kodi leaves a lot to be desired in the way it's configured and just how finicky and inconsistent it is at times (e.g.I want to take a min and think about this new so called kodi fork, fmc (freedom media center software).
Personally I use Aeon Nox as a skin and have set it up in such a way that I don't get bothered by this much any more. It is also stupidly confusing to have "video" and "movies" as subheadings which seem to do the same thing (display your video archive) but actually don't and those two react completely differently to those functions. They work differently depending on which menu you're in and what you're doing and then have a different effect the next time you go into that section (so escaping from a subsection to the main menu will give you a different result the next time you go into that menu than if you went to the main menu using backup). What you're describing is the long time inconsistency between how the system works around backup, esc, backspace and delete functions.
It is at the same time the most wonderful program when it works and the most infuriating program when it doesn't.
I've been using Kodi since it was XBMP on an XBOX about 15 years ago.
